Why Polygon?
Polygon (formerly known as Matic Network) is a platform that allows developers to build and run decentralized applications (dApps) on the Ethereum network. Polygon is considered a Layer 2 chain and is built on the foundation of the Ethereum network. It uses a system of interconnected "sidechains" that are pegged to the main Ethereum blockchain, allowing for faster and cheaper transactions. This makes it an attractive option for developers who want to build dApps on the Ethereum network, but need a more scalable and user-friendly platform.
The Lucidao team initially began operations on the Fantom network but later decided to migrate to the Polygon network for its advanced features such as scalability, low transaction fees, and various development solutions. The Core Team recognized the importance of a reliable technology infrastructure for protocol features such as governance and therefore chose to move to Polygon.
The decision was further supported by Polygon's proven success in enterprise-level operations and its ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between web3 and real-world applications, as demonstrated by recent partnerships and use cases.
By migrating to Polygon, Lucidao aligns with the goal of bringing blockchain technology closer to everyday use.
